Youtube & Podcasts

Updated: May 01, 2023

I have watched and listened to countless hours of content online. I think that the best way to make the right decision while having little to no experience on a matter is by learning from other people stories and mistakes. This is a list of personalities, interviews and podcasts that inspired me the most.

Naval Ravikant

Naval wrote the legendary tweetstorm : How to get rich (without being lucky). You can find the extended audio version here : Youtube

There is this one quote that I would love all my friends to see :

" There are no get rich quick schemes. That’s just someone else getting rich off you. Apply specific knowledge, with leverage, and eventually you will get what you deserve. When you’re finally wealthy, you’ll realize that it wasn’t what you were seeking in the first place. But that’s for another day. "

He has so many incredibly high quality insights on science, innovation and happiness. I would recommend consuming any possible content from him available on the internet. Simply hearing Naval speaks so softly and fluently instantly tells you that he his a different breed.

When you get to that level of wisdom, you can navigate the world more thoughtfully and calmly. It’s like you’re on different a wave length as everyone else. It might be alienating at first because when you are the only person in your surroundings doing the right things, you look like a fool, but in the long run it brings peace
in your life because you know you are on the correct path.

Yuval Noah Harari

Yuval’s books “Sapiens” and “Homo Deus” have helped me tremendously to understand the world we live in and have a better idea of what my contribution to it should be. As a wise and knowledgeable thinker, he naturally has so many exciting talks and interviews on his channel that I can’t recommend enough : YouTube

Ryan Holiday

A great professional who taught me a lot about work ethics, discipline and stoicism. I enjoyed his books “The Obstacle is the Way” and “Ego is the Ennemy” and recommend his channel as well as his medium articles.

Tai Lopez

I found Tai Lopez on Youtube when I was 18 and just started figuring out what kind of life and career I wanted for myself. I can’t quantify of much his advices influenced who I am today. The main topics of his videos are the importance of personal education, finding a mentor, the freedom that comes with financial independence, the lifestyle of working and traveling around the world, being surrounded by the smartest people and most importantly, the “pillars of the good life”, which is a framework that helps you to prioritize and optimize for the right things in life, the things that will make you happy.

I still live my life following these principles to this day.

Nowadays he has pretty much fallen into the meme realm and his content doesn’t speak to me anymore, but here is probably my favorite Tai Lopez video : YouTube

Tyler Okonma

Possibly my favorite artist / entrepreneur. I am very drawn to most parts of his ways of life which are :

  • spending most of your time working on projects you love
  • not being afraid of expressing your mind and believing in your ideas
  • trying to experience as much of the world as you can
  • making time for the little things in life that make you happy
  • not taking things too seriously

Check out this great interview: YouTube

Ben Francis

He is the founder of Gymshark, one of the most valuable brand in the world and greatest success story of my generation. Luckily, he documents a lot of the growth process and management of his company. These inspiring videos always have interesting stories and insights. You should at least check this one out : YouTube

Garry Tan

Garry Tan used to be an IT developer and is now a successful investor in the start-up sphere. He has great content on innovation and the future of tech.

YouTube

Idriss Aberkane [french]

Thinker and lecturer about neurology, geopolitics and new technologies. In his talk “the economy of knowledge”, he explains how combining different expertise can give birth to new powerful insights. All the answers are in the Nature and we should try to mimic it instead of destroying it.

Lex Fridman Podcast

Lex Fridman is an AI researcher working on autonomous vehicles, human-robot interaction, and machine learning. His podcast welcomes some of the smartest scientists and entrepreneurs on earth.

I recommend his interview with Ray Dalio (which I also follow for financial and investment education) here and the one with Vitalik Buterin (founder of Ethereum) here

Moreover, he can play guitar quite well and is a BJJ black belt so he is defenitly someone that I look up to.

Andrew Huberman Podcast

Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist and professor at Stanford University. His podcast covers a wide range of topics related to the brain and human behavior, with a focus on practical strategies for improving mental and physical health. Darknet Diaries

This is a podcast about hackers, breaches, shadow government activity, hacktivism, cybercrime, and all the things that dwell on the hidden parts of the network. So many insane stories. My favorite one is about The Pirate Bay.

Spotify

Joe Rogan Podcast

He’s probably the person who introduced me to the world of MMA, Jordan Peterson, David Goggins... Rogan is the first content creator who embraced long format interview, quite ahead of his time. The diversity of guests on this podcast is second to none. He has now moved to Spotify so I will link an older amazing interview with Naval : YouTube

Spotify

Nico Rosberg Podcast

His lifestyle looks like how I envision my endgame: elegance and luxury. The material aspect of it; expensive cars, nice clothing, fancy events, but also quality time with family and friends, and the peace of mind that comes when you know you have achieved one of your dreams (in his case, winning the F1 World Championship).

He has great interviews with fascinating people from the motorsport world: YouTube
